One of the greatest gifts God has taught me is that He always uses periods when it comes to freedom and healing. What this means to me is that when God sets you free, you are free indeed. However, satan loves to use question marks. At times in my life when God has been doing a great healing in my life and I feel free, satan comes in with a question “Are you sure?” God is just not the God of question marks. I love that about Him. He is definitive, determined, and directive. I don’t feel questions when I sit near my Lord. Oh, I may have them, but He is the God of answers not questions. That makes me feel pretty safe. I start to understand that confusion and questions lead me to try and answer and solve. However, if I remember that God is the God of answers and not questions, then I find myself being able to better hear Him. He calms the storm; he doesn’t stir it.
Think for a moment about healing. When I have found healing in my life, God says…”It is finished. You are done, son. Nothing else to do besides live in your freedom.” However, I begin to feel insecure and unsure when I realize that questions are entering my mind, “Are you sure you are healed? Why are you still thinking about it? Maybe you are not exactly who God says you are?” All of these lead to question marks. If I can let you in on a revelation that the Lord helped me to see a while ago, it might help you if you find a lot of question marks in your life. You see, God is definitive. When He heals, He is finished. Sure, satan may attempt to cause you to doubt who you are or whether you have been healed, but these are called the flaming darts of the enemy. When satan lobs those flaming darts in your direction, remember the periods of our Gracious, Loving Heavenly Dad! His periods will win out over the question marks of the enemy any day… as long as you believe them. Look at some examples below:
What God's Period Says You are a Son/Daughter of the King. You are freed from your brokenness. I have healed your wounds. My love is never ending. | What satan's Question Mark Says You? Worthy of the family of God? Why are you still tempted? Are you sure you are healed? How could He love someone like you? |
So, when the devil puts question marks in your path, remember what the Lord of All has told you. See, if there are too many question marks, then we lose our hope, our strength, and we doubt the Power of the Lord in us. We start to waiver, worry, and back down from the fight. Remember, when God does a work in you, it is finished. No questions, no doubts, it is done. Put a period on some of those places in your life that you still struggle with overcoming. When you put a period there, then satan has less access to placing question marks. When he tempts you with a flaming arrow, remember the periods in your life. It is finished – no doubt about it! So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
